WILL ALWAYS BE THE STUDENT no matter how much time passes. Staying open to the learning process helps me let go of the outcome. What do I mean by this?! My mom and I had an art show. She sold many paintings and I didn't. But instead of fixating on the number of paintings I sold, I focused on putting on the show with my mom. I enjoyed watching my mom's art-making process and seeing her speak about her art. I don’t know everything, and that’s okay. It took me awhile to be okay with that fact. I no longer have to prove myself to others. WHAT KEEPS YOU HUMBLE?! It's taken me time to acknowledge that reaching out to others isn't a sign of weakness. It's rather a demonstration of strength and humility. When do you reach out to others? It's those who demonstrate the courage to get to know others beyond their external presence and those who are willing to explore themselves that inspire me. I find it incredibly meaningful when people and brave are willing to gain insight into their positive qualities and their weaknesses. This is a phrase that is somewhat overused, but I'll say it anyway--we all have areas of growth.
